RE: Black Dots

I had the same thing on my toad and the only thing I could find that worked was... NOTHING! One dot at a time. Still find them once in a while and it has been years since I got them. Good luck!

RE: Generator Air vs. Dash Air

Our dash air will not even come close to cooling the coach and what could be worse than 2 sweaty kids and 2 overheated dogs. This summer we've run the roof air and the dash air at the same time a few times... If comfort weren't the major issue, I probably wouldn't have a MH in the first place.

RE: 39% savings in fuel

I hate it when cars draft behind me. I think they are jeopardizing the safety of my family. It is so obvious that when I slow down they stay right on my back or when I speed up they stay in place.

RE: Hanging Laundry

We bought a nice one from CW that we dry towels and swimsuits on. It does a great job and looks very nice. Haven't had a problem using it yet, but we don't leave it loaded all day either.

RE: Brand of Tow Dolly

We purchased a Master Tow. Works great and tows nicely... but doesn't fold up which makes getting it into and out of our garage a hassle and stores very "large". Otherwise, it is very easy to use and the price was right.

RE: gen-turi

Got ours on sale for $84 from Amazon.com in January. Best $84 I've spent in a long time, but I certainly wouldn't try to permanently mount it and can't see any advantage to doing that. We ran our generator a lot this summer while driving and couldn't have gotten fumes inside from it unless I drove in reverse.

RE: New Jersey MH length restrictions??

I haven't seen the law, but I believe to pump gas at a gas station you must be from the Middle East... at least from my observation recently and when I lived there.

RE: AT&T Aircard

Well, we made our last trip with the AT&T air card. We traveled to southern Maryland and even though we were in an area that supposedly had good connectivity (according to their online coverage map) we got no connectivity at all. I spent over an hour on the phone with one of their techs and still couldn't get any connection. I argued my point of only having connectivity while parked in front of my house (where I have good connectivity from my house) and got out of my contract without any penalty.

RE: Class A Bunk House Comparison/Pricing

We've had our Itasca 35J for 6 months and love it! We've camped 79 days and have driven nearly 6,000 miles without any issues at all.

RE: Opinions please........

Personally, I'd tell him to pack sand. Nearly $3000 pure profit so he'll give you service to make yet more profit? Typical thievery I've seen in the RV industry. With the price of gas and the companies that are going out of business because of the cost of RVing, I can't see them telling you they won't service you... especially when you contact the manufacturer. I've had no problems by not buying locally.

RE: Duct Tape camper! honestly!

My 9 year old daughter thought this was cool, but did ask how much hair she'd lose overnight. I just can't imagine that all this work would be worth it for one night of no rain.

RE: AT&T Aircard

I have the AT&T card and our last 3 trips (New Jersey, Pennsylvania & West Virginia) yielded us ZERO connectivity. I hope you have better luck. We're going on one more trip this coming week and if we have any issues at all we are cancelling our service. Best of luck!

RE: Shut off the water when you leave for the day?

Appreciate the tip. We're leaving in a few days for our next outing. I've never heard about doing this, but it sure makes a heck of a lot of sense. Thanks!

RE: What is the best toy of gadjet you have or added to your MH

It would have to be my silver dollar center caps........:B http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t268/96bounder30e/ikehubcap.jpg I love your silver dollars! How did you attach them? Silicone?

RE: What is the best toy of gadjet you have or added to your MH

I probably won't carry it with me, but we just bought a Ridgid 175psi air compressor purchased at Home Depot for $279. Filled up my tires in seconds. Honestly, did M/H six tires to 92lbs and our eight car tires (wife's has 17.5" tires) in less then 10 minutes with the majority of the time being finding the valve caps from my duals that I always drop.

RE: Motorhome fire

Having fought big fires at sea on a few occasions, I can tell you that it takes more than the correct firefighting agent. It takes an incredible amount of guts and a lot of luck. Personally, I'll use our portable fire extinguishers to put out fires between my family and the nearest exit. Although I think I've got a good amount of guts, having seen a M/H fire and how fast it engulfs a rig, I'd think fighting the fire would be worthless unless you are lucky to catch it when it first ignites. Getting DW, DD, DS, & my two dogs out safely is job one for me. JMHO... be safe and maintain good insurance!

RE: Weber Q BBQ and propane

We initially had a problem with ours getting hot enough when using a 20lb bottle. I called Weber and the rep said to open the knob on the grill all the way and let it run for 1 minute before lighting. Worked like a charm and haven't had a problem with them... yep, bought two... one for MH and one for stick house.

RE: watch rv amps

Our coach is only 30 amps and we don't have any issues with powering both A/Cs and numerous other items simultaneously (except for my DW's hair dryer). The EMS does a great job and is not noticable at all when things shut off and turn on.

RE: 30 Amp Coach / Two AC'S

We also have the 35J and have had ZERO problems with 30amps. We've run nearly everything at once and the EMS operates great. Typically the EMS shuts stuff down in proper fashion and is not a problem at all. I don't have to think about what to turn off or worry about power at all, except when my wife wants to blow dry hair for her or our daughter, which is the only time we've ever blown a fuse and that was while microwaving and using a blowdryer. As far as running airconditioners and the hot water heater simultaneously... also no problems at all. With a family of 4 showering, I can guarantee you that we've had that scenario many times.

RE: Its hot

Our Itasca Sunova (same as Sightseer) has a switch on the dash called coach heat. Switch it off, and no more heat! A wonderful device for winter travel.
